The team working on the bMOOC Research Project includes researchers and teacher educators in two distinct yet complimentary areas of teacher education – early English language education (CETAPS, Universidade Nova da Lisboa) and e-learning (LE@D, Universidade Aberta).
They are working with MOOC designers, engineers (NAU and ActiveMedia) and educational consultants.

Sandie is a senior research fellow at CETAPS, Nova University of Lisbon, with over 30 years of experience in English language education as a teacher, teacher educator, educational consultant and researcher. She coordinates the ‘Teacher education and curriculum studies in second language education’ research strand and investigates classroom-based assessment practices, as well as picturebooks in language education, early years language learning, intercultural awareness and citizenship education. Sandie is the Chair of ELLRA – Early Language Learning Research Association.

He was Pro-Rector for Innovation in Distance Learning at UAb (2006-09) and the President of the European Distance and eLearning Network (2013-16), the largest European association of academics and professionals in open, distance and eLearning.
